YAMA UBA Yama Uba is a dark synth pop / post-punk project, featuring Akiko Sampson (vocals, bass, synth, programming) and Winter Zora (vocals, guitar and saxophone). “Layering guitars and saxes over synths and drum machines, this Oakland duo’s darkwave is as melodically potent as it is texturally rich.” -Bandcamp Yama Uba have shared stages with Pink Turns Blue, Kaelan Mikla, Buzz Kull, Light Asylum, and livestream bills with A Place to Bury Strangers, Twin Tribes, and She Past Away. Yama Uba’s debut album, Silhouettes, was released by Ratskin Records and Psychic Eye Records in January, 2024. Cover art designed by Pearl Thompson (The Cure).
