Named after two adjacent hills in San Francisco, and filled with veterans of the Bay Area music scenes – from punk rock to hip hop, and from jazzy funk to art rock – Russian Telegraph brings you a grooving mix of original music.
Co-led by singer-guitarist David James (Afrofunk Experience, the Coup, Spearhead) and clarinetist-vocalist Beth Custer (Trance Mission, Eighty Mile Beach), the group also features trumpeter Chris Grady (Club Foot Orchestra, Tom Waits), keyboardist Jordan Glasgow (Curtis Bumpy, Loveseat Congregation), bassist Keith McArthur (Motherbug, Black Pole), and drummer John Hanes (Actual Trio, Pearl Harbour & the Explosions).

Doublestroke is an instrumental afro-funky/ world groove quintet. Over its 15 year history the group has been home to many of the Bay Area’s top players, brought together to keep dance floors filled with joyous, hip-shaking grooves. Driving funk, Caribbean rhythms, and buoyant Afrobeat influences simmer in an ecstatic jazz stew for YOU!
