Ivy Riot! Unleashing QTPOC power through music, workshops and community!
IVY RIOT! will be a Queer focused, month long wellness and development program which includes but not limited to, LGBTQIA+ live music events, comedy shows, activist panels, job fairs and mental health support workshops. Ivy Room’s program will be held in and around the month of June 2024 in celebration of Pride. We wholeheartedly desire to be the hub for the LGBTQIA+ community in the Bay Area and strongly believe in the necessity of having a safe open space to belong to.

MYA BYRNE
Mya Byrne is a celebrated Americana singer-songwriter and firecracker guitarist, combining influences from countrypolitan to glam-pop, blues, and ghostly incantations into a singular voice and vision. Mimi’s second solo album, “Rhinestone Tomboy”, produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter Aaron Lee Tasjan, is out now on Kill Rock Stars. Her music has been featured and praised by NPR, Rolling Stone, Democracy Now, and No Depression, among others. She is the first out queer trans woman to be an official Gibson artist. Her work both on and offstage for social justice drives her passionate, fiery music, and she’s an absolute sweetheart who will make you cookies at midnight if you ask nicely. A longtime East Bay artist, she recently relocated to Brooklyn and is proud to be returning to Ivy Room.
SIDE PONY
Side Pony is an Oakland-based queer trans low femme weirdo earnest indie rock group, inspired by queercore, 80s power ballads, and too many Virgo songwriters to count. Femme forward vocals with catchy hooks, a retro vibe, and queer punk flare. Side Pony is here for collective liberation and being total homos.
SQUEAKIE
Squeakie is a ramshackle queer country band with members from across the States who have settled in the California Bay Area. They croon about tales of vengeful wives, wronged lovers, down-and-out clowns, growing up queer in the American south & more. Squeakie is country music with a charming, earnest, and humorous delivery.
OMINOUS AMBIGUOUS
An eclectic bay area quad with nw indie vibes that range from the soulfully melodic to punches of grunginess. A band of queers and weirdos making music to feel things to.
